INTA Appoints Chappano

The International Trademark Association (INTA) has appointed Perry M. Chappano to its Internet Committee for the 2011-2013 term. INTA is an organization of several thousand members from over 190 countries which Perry joined initially in 1989. Its Internet Committee advises INTA on policies and advocacy related to trademarks and the internet including domain name issues and matters involving general online trademark use. That working Group reviews and comments on proposals relating to IDNs, including the reframing of IDN Guidelines to develop a Best Current Practices document; monitors applications for, and introduction of "fast track" IDN registries; analyzes unique issues related to access to and intelligibility of Whois queries and results concerning Internationalized Domain Names (IDNs) (in coordination with the Domain Disputes, Ownership & Whois Subcommittee); and assists Country-Code TLD (ccTLD) administrators in formulating policy.
